CRN (Canadian Registration Number),
PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) and
ABS (American Bureau of Shipbuilding) Certifications.

 


Canadian Registration Number (CRN) __________________________

Hose Master has received Canadian Registration Numbers (CRN), allowing it to fabricate assemblies used in Canadian pressure applications. Products included in this registration are Annuflex and Masterflex single braided 321, 316, or 304 stainless steel hose assemblies, as well as ChemKing single braided C276 hose with either 316 or C276 braid.

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) developed standards for the fabrication of Boilers, Pressure Vessels and Pressure Piping under the guidance of CSA Standard B51-03 (Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Code).  This code is established to maintain agreed-upon standards of quality performance and interchangeability and/or safety.  CSA B51-03 is roughly equivalent to the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code for Pressure Piping, B31.  CSA B51-03 references a variety of ASME standards and defers to "recognized North American standards) for a number of the requirements of the Canadian standard.

A Canadian Registration Number (CRN) must be obtained for hose assemblies used in connection with any boiler, pressure vessel or pressure piping system and must be comprised using a combination of the fittings listed below:

Since May 2002 the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) has been a certification           mandatory throughout Europe. The directive provides a governmental policy for equipment   subject to pressure hazards. Its purpose is to coordinate laws throughout Europe  regarding the design, manufacture, testing and conformity of pressure equipment and assemblies of pressure equipment. The directive includes manufacturers of items such as vessels, pressurized storage containers, heat exchangers, steam generators, boilers, industrial hose and piping, safety devices and pressure accessories. The PED certification covers a wide range of industries including: refinery, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics, rubber, food and beverage, glass, pulp and paper, power and utilities, heating, air conditioning, gas storage, and transportation.  If you are quoting any projects that require PED, let Hose Master help.



  


 American Bureau of Shipbuilding ________________

 Hose Master has earned its ABS Type Class Approval Certification for marine & offshore applications including steel vessels, vessels under 90  
 meters, fixed and movable offshore platforms for the following products:

                          Expansion Joint - Exhaust Bellows  -  2" through 30": 15 psi  800ºF
                          Expansion Joint - General Use  -  2" through 12" 150 psi 800ºF

Hose Master will expand its ABS certifications to include Type Class Approval on its current flexible corrugated metal hose.  Hose Master distributors will have a sales and service advantages when targeting the shipbuilding, general marine, and offshore applications.
